The most anticipated movies and TV shows this fall

Fall is just around the corner. Here are some movies and TV shows that we’re most looking forward to in the coming months.

  • His Three Daughters. This drama features estranged sisters reconnecting to take care of their dying father in their childhood home. Early reviews suggest actors Carrie Coon, Natasha Lyonne, and Elizabeth Olson do some of the best work of their careers. Read more.

  • Will & Harper. This documentary, directed by Josh Greenbaum (Barb and Star Go to Vista del Mar), was one of the most crowd-pleasing premieres at Sundance this year. It originated when, one day in 2021, writer Harper Steele approached her old SNL friend Will Ferrell to open up about her gender transition. Read more.

  • My Old Ass. Director Megan Park’s sophomore feature is a coming-of-age comedy revolving around Elliott (Maisy Stella), who meets her 39-year-old self (Aubrey Plaza) during a ‘shroom trip on her 18th birthday. Read more.

  • Speak No More. Let’s hope this American remake of the Danish horror film of the same name doesn’t water down the third act’s delicious brutality—one of the most haunting and memorable horror endings of the last five years. Read more.

  • Fight Night: The Million Dollar Heist. Based on the 2020 podcast from IHeartPodcasts, this show tells the story of how Muhammed Ali’s 1970 return to boxing in Atlanta went from the biggest bout in the world into one of the biggest thefts in the world. Read more.

  • The Perfect Couple. Nicole Kidman plays the matriarch of an extremely wealthy Nantucket family, who becomes suspicious of her son’s fiancée. On the eve of the wedding, a body is discovered on the beach, and soon, all the family secrets buried by power, money, and NDAs start to bubble to the surface. Read more.

  • How to Die Alone. The comedy follows a disillusioned woman who has never been in love and is coasting through her days as a bored airport worker but, after a brush with death, decides to grab life by the collar and stop letting experiences pass her by. Read more.

  • Nobody Wants This. The Netflix series follows the unexpected odd-couple relationship between a rabbi and an agnostic woman starring Seth Cohen and Kristen Bell. Read more.
